DES MOINES, Iowa – A round of heavy rain moved through Central Iowa Monday morning and triggered flash flood warnings for several counties.

Flash Flood warnings are in effect until 1:15 p.m. for Jasper, Marshall and Story Counties. More than three inches of rain have fallen in some areas and Story County Emergency Management reported water covering several roadways in the community of Colo earlier.

Meteorologists remind motorists to never drive through flooded roadways.

Meteorologist Megan Salois said additional thunderstorms are in the forecast for this afternoon into the evening.
