DES MOINES, Iowa – It’s a busy summer weekend and Central Iowa and the heat is on.
A warm front will arrive in southern Iowa Friday night and will track towards the northeast by Sunday. The warm front will bring a chance of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall to Iowa on Saturday, but it will also bring heat and humidity to the state.
Meteorologist Jennifer McDermed said temperatures by the end of the weekend will reach close to the mid-90s with heat index values reaching the triple digits. The 90s will stay with us for daytime highs through mid-next week.
