1/20 Overnight Weather

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for all of Central Iowa until Noon on Friday. Wind chills will again drop to -20 to -30 through early morning. Winds won’t be as strong, but air temperatures will be colder which will make it easier for those wind chills to drop.

Friday night, a pattern change sets in with a warm front and more clouds approaching from the west. Temperatures will rise to the teens on Friday evening. This will bring a quick hit of light snow through early Saturday morning. Roads may be slick early in the day. Temperatures will return to the mid to upper 20s during the afternoons this weekend. Another fast moving disturbance may bring another dusting to parts of Iowa early Sunday morning as well.

We aren’t done with the arctic chill! Temperatures will tumble again next Tuesday to the single digits and overnight lows will drop below zero mid-next week.
