Skies will stay mostly clear tonight with just a few clouds. Temperatures will be warm overnight with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. It will be another hot day on Tuesday with temperatures rising to the low 90s. Heat index values will get as warm as 101 during the afternoon.
High heat and humidity will get even worse on Wednesday as highs climb back into the mid and upper 90s. Because dew points will be in the 70s, it will feel between 105-110°. Excessive Heat Watches will go into effect across the state by Wednesday.
Our next boundary will move through the state on Thursday with a few more clouds. We’ll get a little bit of a reprieve by Friday and Saturday as highs fall back into the upper 80s. There will be a few spotty showers and storms mainly in southern and southwestern Iowa.
