A cold front that passed through early this morning will bring strong northwest winds into central Iowa for today.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s through the first half of the day with spotty showers possible before noon. After that skies will start to clear out and temperatures will climb a few degrees for the afternoon with “highs” in the lower to middle 50s. Skies will continue to clear for the overnight and temperatures will plummet.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for most of central Iowa until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, you’ll want to cover any sensitive plants that you have outside before you go to bed. A heavier coat would also be a good idea for tomorrow morning.
