OTHO, Iowa – A round of severe storms moving through central Iowa Sunday evening produced six possible tornadoes around the state.

A funnel cloud was spotted northwest of Stanhope in Hamilton County. It appeared to break up before heading towards the town. But Sunday night, the Stanhope Fire Department did report a tornado on the ground.

It was one of six tornadoes spotters reported to the National Weather Service Sunday night.

Spotters reported two others tornadoes near Stratford in Webster County after seven Sunday night.

In Grundy County, the Conrad Fire Department reported two tornadoes and another spotter identified a possible tornado in Jones County near the town of Wyoming in eastern Iowa.

A thunderstorm produced wind damage southeast of the community of Otho. According to the National Weather Service, several outbuildings and a shed were damaged by winds. Power poles and trees were also damaged.

No injuries have been reported.
