Hoiberg had open-heart surgery on April 17 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The surgery consisted of doctors replacing his aortic valve.
The Cyclones' coach stated that he found out 10 years ago he’d have to do this at some point. Hoiberg also said he hopes that this will be his last surgery.
The recovery time is expected to take four to six weeks.
