OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – For the first time in almost 20 years the Iowa women made it to the Sweet 16, but that’s where their season comes to an end.
The Hawkeyes lose to Baylor 81-66 and finish the year 26-8.
Iowa got off to a terrible start trailing 8-0 out of the gates. After trailing by 13 in the first half the Hawks made a run and cut it to 2 after a Samantha Logic layup, 36-34. But two straight Baylor threes sealed the deal before half.
Bethany Doolittle led Iowa with 16 points in her final game. Logic ended her career in style with a triple double, 13 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds.
Sune Abuke led Baylor with 23 points.
