When the Seahawks were rolling, Seattle receiver Chris Matthews threatened to join Kurt Warner as former Barnstormers to win Super Bowl MVP.  The Patriots came back and won, and Tom Brady eventually took home the MVP truck.

Matthews played for the Barnstormers in 2012 (#19) when they were still in the Arena Football League. (They've now joined the Indoor Football League.) Matthews played six games and caught 36 passes, for 472 yards and 9 touchdowns.  AFL receivers often have video game totals, so those numbers did not turn heads prior to the then 22 year old Matthews leaving for the CFL.

In fact, as we looked back through our Barnstormers file video from that forgettable losing season, the only play saved of Matthews is him dropping a sure touchdown pass. Oops. Who knew? Well, he's come a long way. Good for him.
