MOVING ON: World Series Berth For Urbandale Team

An Urbandale baseball team is headed to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The Urbandale Little League All-Stars beat the Coon Rapids, Minnesota team Friday afternoon with a score of 3-2.

Murphy’s Bar and Grill in Urbandale held a viewing party for the team, Friday.

TJ Neyens’ was there cheering on his nephew and pinch hitter Joshua Neyens who scored the winning run.

“Well, to get on ESPN as a little kid at 12-years-old you know that`s a lifetime of memories right there,” TJ said.

Four years ago Urbandale competed at the Little League World Series with no luck. The team will play next Friday in Williamsport, PA and will face the winner of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Channel 13′s Michael Admire will be there to cover the game.
