ISU’s Jameel McKay Named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Cyclones forward Jameel McKay has been honored by the Big 12 following his impressive play over the past week.

McKay was named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday. The senior, who shared the honor with Texas guard Javan Felix, averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds in Iowa State’s three wins. The No. 5 Cyclones remained undefeated after beating the likes of Buffalo, Iowa, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff last week.

The forward’s best overall game last week came in Iowa State’s thrilling comeback victory over the in-state rival Hawkeyes. He put in 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while going 10-of-12 from the field.

In nine games played this year, McKay is averaging 15 points, 11.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game with a PER of 24.5. He’s first in the conference in total rebounds, third in field goal percentage, and sixth in total points.
