AMES, Iowa – Matt Campbell coached his first Cyclone practice on Tuesday.

The Cyclones won just eight games the past three years, but there’s a different vibe this season with Campbell.

At 36 years old, Campbell is now the youngest head coach in a Power Five conference.

Campbell has to rebuild Iowa State’s entire offensive line, but he likes what he’s seen so far from the Cyclones.

“With the whirlwind of the last two and a half months, it was really good to get back around our football team and really start to install what we look for in our football program,” Campbell said. “Obviously, a foundation of great attitude and effort is our starting point. I thought we made great strides in those two areas the last two weeks.”

Iowa State’s Spring Game is April 16.
