Valley No. 1 in AP Iowa High School Boys’ Basketball Poll

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The Associated Press released the first Iowa high school boys’ basketball poll of the season on Monday afternoon, and Valley emerged as No. 1 in Class 4A.

Each poll throughout the season takes votes on the four classes from members of the Associated Press across the state of Iowa.

Here are the complete rankings from the first Iowa poll:

CLASS 4A

1. W.D.M. Valley 4-0; 2. Iowa City West 3-1; 3. Pleasant Valley 4-0; 4. Cedar Falls 3-0; 5. D.M. Hoover 4-1; 6. Ankeny 4-0; 7. Ames 3-1; 8. Ankeny Centennial 4-0; 9. Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 3-0; 10. Dowling Catholic 2-1.

CLASS 3A

1. Dubuque Wahlert 4-0; 2. Pella 4-0; 3. Harlan 3-0; 4. Solon 4-0; 5. Sioux City Heelan 3-1; 6. Cedar Rapids Xavier 2-1; 7. Spencer 4-0; 8. Glenwood 4-0; 9. MOC-Floyd Valley 4-1; 10. Chariton 4-0.

CLASS 2A
