Cyclone fans will always wonder, what if.

What if George Niang didn’t break his foot in the NCAA tournament, just how far would Iowa State have gone?

The good news, big George is back.

Sunday, Niang played in the opener of the YMCA Capital City League fully healed.

Niang scored 29 points on his return.

Along with a healed foot, says he's lost 20 pounds.

"I'm working to get my body fit," Niang said. "It's more like a lifestyle change, than a quick fix. I'm working on eating healthy. Guys back home tell me your body is a temple, so you might as well treat it as one.

"You can't put diesel fuel in a regular car. You have to put good stuff in your body. Good things will come out of it."

Niang will participate in the Nike Elite Big Man Skills Academy in New Jersey next week. He's one of 10 college big men invited to the camp.
