Hawkeye forward Jarrod Uthoff and Cyclone forward Georges Niang have been named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 List.
The Los Angeles Athletic Club announced the full list on Wednesday, which was chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts. The list features 25 student-athletes who are the front-runners for college basketball’s most prestigious and recognized honor.
Niang has been stellar for No. 17 Iowa State this season as he’s averaging 19.9 points per game, 6.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. He ranks second in the Big 12 in points and field goal percentage.
Uthoff has also been sensational for the No. 16 Hawkeyes as he’s putting up 18.6 points per game, 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 blocks, while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from behind the arc. His averages in points and blocks leads the Big Ten.
This announcement comes after both players also made NBC Sports’ Midseason All-American Teams.
