ANKENY, Iowa-- Coming off a 3 win season, Iowa State fans are hoping for better results this year.  The worst season under Paul Rhoads certainly hasn't affected attendance.  The first 2 games of the season are already sold out.

That support was evident at Benchwarmers in Ankeny on Saturday night.  About 300 Cyclone fans donned their cardinal and gold for the 3rd Annual CycloneFanatic Football Kickoff party.

We asked fans what their expectations were for the upcoming season.  Their responses all centered around one common theme:  an improved offense.  "The offense has to be better this year.  It was pathetic last year and that's being kind," says Brian McClain, a Cyclone fan from Ankeny.

Fans say that those improvements on offense start with new Offensive Coordinator Mark Mangino.  "Mark Mangino is going to bring a big consistency key to our offense," ISU fan Zach Oden says, "if our offense can sustain drives, and not go 3 and out so often, then our defense won't have to work as hard."

Iowa State kicks off the 2014 season at home next Saturday at 11am.  The Cyclones will host #1 ranked North Dakota State.
