Dowling Wins First Girls Swimming Title

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Dowling girls won their first-ever state swimming title on Saturday, holding off Ames, 360-328.

Ankeny came in third with 200 points, behind Jasmine Rumley’s wins in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Rumley’s 49.03 in the 100 free is a new state record.

The Maroons won four events.
