DES MOINES – For just the 2nd time in the last 14 years there will be no CIML teams playing for a state soccer championship.

Dowling lost to Dubuque Hempstead 2-1, while Waukee fell to Cedar Rapids Kennedy 1-0 in the semifinals.  The Maroons scored in the first minute of the game but couldn’t hold it.  The Warriors had chances, but just couldn’t get the equalizer.

Kennedy and Hempstead will meet Saturday for the Class 3A title.

Waverly Shell-Rock will take on North Scott for the 2A crown.
