AMES - 14th ranked Iowa State had a bit of a Cyhawk hangover Sunday evening against Southern, but the Cyclones pulled away in the 2nd half to beat the Jaguars 88-78.

Iowa State led by 7 at the half, and extended that lead to 27 in the 2nd before the Jags made a run to keep it within 10.

Georges Niang and Bryce Dejean-Jones each had 18 points to lead the way, Monte Morris added 15, Naz Long 13.

Dejean-Jones was back in the starting lineup after missing Friday's game against Iowa due to suspension.

The Cyclones hit 12 threes on Friday against Iowa, but were ice cold tonight from long range hitting just 2/17.

Iowa State improves to 8-1 overall.  The Cyclones are next in action Saturday in the Big 4 Classic against Drake.
