Several hundred Iowa State fans hit the road on the cyclone fanatic bus ride from Des Moines to Memphis Saturday morning and John Sears was along for the ride.

It was a long, long day.

The journey to Memphis began at 6.30am.

Stop 1 was Mount Pleasant, home of the Panthers.

As the bus continued on its way south, the driver had two rules, “no binge drinking and the other is no porno on the DVD!”

Stop number two on the journey brought the fans to Arnold, Missouri. John’s reaction, “I wish I could say an interesting fact about Arnold but I don’t have one except they have an Arby’s and a McDonalds.”

One fan doesn’t mind, “It’s pretty nice being a cyclone fan this year. Have you seen the Hawkeye bowl shirts? They’re pure white.”

12 hours later the bus landed in Memphis and Cyclone fans are looking forward to partying through the night.

John will bring you another update Sunday.
