LOS ANGELES, California – The Chicago Cubs were able to snap their four-game losing streak on Sunday night behind Jake Arrieta's first career no-hitter.

The Cubs took a 2-0 lead when former Iowa Cub Kris Bryant hit a two-run home run in the 1st inning, and that’s all the runs they would need against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Arietta finished the no-hitter by striking out the side in the 9th inning. He finished with 12 strikeouts on 116 pitches thrown.

It was the team's first no-hitter since Carlos Zambrano did it in 2008, and only the second in the last 43 years.

Chicago leads the final National League wild card spot by five and a half games.
