CHICAGO, Illinois – It’s been a rough first year for Fred Hoiberg in Chicago.
For the first time in eight years and just the second time in 12 seasons, the Bulls will miss out on the playoffs.
It’s been a stunning fall as many national pundits and oddsmakers predicted the Bulls to be one of the top Eastern Conference contenders to LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers. Just last season, the Bulls led the Cavaliers 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals before falling to Cleveland in six games.
Chicago fans aren’t used to being left out of the postseason but numerous injuries and team chemistry have the Bulls on the outside, among several other issues. With two games remaining, the team is currently 40-40.
The Bulls were flirting with the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference over the past few weeks, but with the Indiana Pacers winning on Sunday, Chicago was officially eliminated.
