The Kentucky Derby draw took place Wednesday afternoon with many horse owners hoping to land between the fifth and 15th post position.

The Iowa-owned horse, Brody’s Cause, received the 19th post position on the auxiliary gate, just one from the far outside.

However, Brody’s Cause is known as a closer and remains 12-to-1 to win the Kentucky Derby.

“We started at the bottom and now to be at the very top, it’s so rewarding,” said Jason Loutsch, General Manager of Albaugh Family Stables. “It’s such a tough business, the lows are really low and the highs are really high. To be a part of the Kentucky Derby this year it’s an unbelievable accomplishment. We appreciate it so much because we know how hard it is to get to that level.”
