WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The high school football season is officially underway.
Last year, Dowling Catholic celebrated their third-straight state title. The Maroons are the only 4A team to win three in a row.
Their first practice of the season was held in West Des Moines on Monday.
The Maroons have only lost one game in the last three years and look ready to reload this year.
They’ll rely on a big offensive line, a bruising running back duo with Jacob Zachary and Cole Deskin, and a solid defense in hopes of making it four straight titles.
Dowling opens up the season Aug. 26 at Ankeny.
