Hy-Vee Hall was packed Tuesday with thousands of fourth and fifth graders.

The "Exercise Your Character" program featuring music, dancing, aerobic exercise and speeches from athletes and coaches was held.

The presenters included Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz, Iowa State football coach Paul Rhoads, Olympic triathlete Hunter Kemper and former Major League Baseball player Casey Blake of Indianola.

The program aims to raise awareness about youth inactivity. It was also loud.

“It felt like 20 version of my sister were screaming at me. So yeah, that was loud,” student Carter Engelbrecht said.

The students say they learned a number of lessons including that they need to be a good person even when people aren't watching and that they need to treat others as they want to be treated.
