MidAmerican Energy has announced where it will construct its new wind energy farms.

Sites in five Iowa counties have been chosen. The new farms will be in Madison, Marshall, Grundy, O’Brien, and Webster counties.

MidAmerican Energy announced plans in May to invest up to $1.9 billion in wind energy in the state.

Construction is expected to begin this September and all projects are planned to be done in 2015. Four-hundred and sixty temporary jobs will be created by the construction of the wind farms and the project will create 48 permanent jobs.
