CARROLL, Iowa- It's a white Christmas for parts of Iowa.  Snow began falling in west-central Iowa around 9, spreading to Central Iowa in the morning.

"It really gets everybody in the Christmas spirit, everybody's getting on the road," said Nancy Turner of the Glidden Country Store. "Beautiful this makes Christmas, this is putting everybody in a great mood."

Travelers had to deal with some slick roads.

We’re gonna have a white Christmas we didn’t think so a week ago, said Brian Hogenson of Ames.  He was driving from Ames to Carroll.

"For me growing up on the farm it means sleigh riding on Christmas Day going out having a snow ball fight when we were kids," said Joan Baumhover, who was hard at work at Sam's Sodas and Sandwiches.

But the nice white snow also caused a number of accidents across Iowa.
