WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — Police are releasing the names of two people who were shot on Monday afternoon in West Des Moines. Authorities say 42-year-old Chad Michael shot 41-year-old Jayme Ekis in the head and then shot and killed himself. Ekis remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

Ekis and Michael were in a relationship and police say the shooting was an attempted murder-suicide.
