BITTER COLD: Wind Kicks Up Snow

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect until 9 AM for northern and northeastern Iowa. 2 to 3″ inches of snow fell in this area. Fort Dodge and Ames are a part of the winter weather advisory area. Des Moines is just south of the advisory area. Des Moines will see under a half inch of snow.

Skies will clear and it will once again be cold and windy with temperatures falling into the single digits this afternoon. Strong winds from the west-northwest will make it feel 10 degrees colder. There is another chance of snow by Friday.
