A train derailment led to a fuel spill in Cedar Rapids Monday morning.

A spokesperson for Iowa Northern Railway Company says a switch malfunctioned causing one engine to push another off the tracks.

Officials say the collision punctured a fuel tank and they couldn’t stop the leak.

A hazmat crew was called to clean up the spill, but authorities say there is no risk to the public.
