It’s one of the biggest weekends at the Iowa Speedway, the DuPont Pioneer 250 NSACAR Nationwide Series starts Friday and continues on into Saturday.

And with the fans, comes the traffic.

Highways most likely to be affected are Interstate 80 near Newton at the 164 and 168 mile-markers and Highway 14 south of Newton.

Law enforcement and speedways officials are getting ready. They are working with a private traffic control company to put up signs and cones to clearly mark travel routes.

Officers will be guiding drivers at intersections.

They remind everyone that they should expect slow traffic and possible delays.

They ask you arrive early and be patient.

Officials expect traffic to be heaviest approximately two hours before and after the race.
