Friends and relatives gathered in West Des Moines on Wednesday to remember a young boy who went missing 30 years ago.

Johnny Gosch disappeared in 1982 while on his paper route in West Des Moines; he was just 12 years old.

Investigators believe he may have been kidnapped, but police don’t have suspects and haven’t made any arrests.

Johnny’s case gained national attention, and his picture was even put on milk cartons across the country.

Johnny’s mother became an advocate for missing children, establishing the Johnny Gosch Foundation.

Two years later, Eugene Martin disappeared while delivering newspapers on the South Side of Des Moines. His case have never been solved either.

Police never made any connections between the two cases.
