Talented Ames resident and Wayland native, Cameron McBeth and his dance moves have been causing a stir nationally.

McBeth was one of 80 contestants to make it to the last round of “blind auditions” on NBC’s The Voice this week. Judges faced away from the performers to assess their singing without distraction. McBeth didn’t get the memo; he danced his way out of the competition leaving Usher to recommend, “You can’t dance out of key.”

That advice was reiterated by the Huffington Post and Joel McHale on The Soup on E! joking, “if you think his dancing is good, you should hear him paint.”

McBeth has since turned his attention to campaigning to get his moves on Ellen.

If you’d like to see Cameron McBeth’s moves in the flesh, catch him singing at Charlie Yokes on May 2nd in Ames from 9 p.m.
