A 15-year-old boy faces several charges in connection with a taxi cab robbery Thursday morning in Iowa City and police are looking into whether he was involved with two other similar robberies.

Iowa City police say they arrested the teen for his part in the armed robbery that took place just before 5:00 a.m. Thursday. He’s charged with first degree robbery and interfering with official acts.

The teen is in the Linn County Detention Center and will be referred to juvenile court.

Two other taxi cab robberies happened last weekend in Iowa City, one on Friday and the other on Sunday.

That triggered a “Hawk Alert” on the University of Iowa campus.
