The IRS says those impacted by recent storms won’t be charged a penalty if they file their taxes late.

Over the last week everything from tornadoes to snow and ice have caused power outages across the country.

The IRS says those outages have made it difficult for taxpayers and professionals to file before Monday’s midnight deadline.

They says as long as there is proof you’ve been impacted, you won’t have to pay the penalty.
