While Floppy’s return to the public eye made headlines at the Iowa State Fair, the biggest star is a pig.

Otis is 2013 Big Boar winner. He weighs in at a whopping 1,103-pound.

At over half-a-ton he’s still 100-pounds lighter than the fair’s all-time champion.

Otis comes from the Meinders’ farm in Buffalo Center.

Otis isn’t the only king of his class on the fairgrounds.

He tipped the scales at 405-pounds.

However, the most popular animal on the fairgrounds is inside the Agriculture Building.

The butter cow is once again drawing a crowd.

This year it’s joined by a butter Abe Lincoln and a butter rendition of the Lincoln Highway Bridge in Tama.
