It is less than two weeks from the start of the Iowa State Fair and that means works is well under way in the Agriculture building.

Sculptor Sarah Pratt is digging in, getting her butter sculptures ready for viewers. The butter cow is just about complete. She says all that’s left is a few details including the tail.

Pratt is also done with the background for the cow’s companion sculpture, now she’s working on the wire that will hold butter for Snow White and the Evil Queen.

“The queen will be started today…hopefully Snow White and queen finished by mid-next week because I still have seven dwarfs to do,” says Pratt.

Pratt even has a little help this summer. This year she welcomed a new member to her family, Dean.

He has two older, twin sister that are eight and a half.
