Des Moines road crews were busy Sunday night and early Monday morning clearing the main roads as just over five inches of snow fell in parts of the city.

Crews are now continuing work on residential streets to clear Sunday’s snowfall.

The commute Monday morning was slick for drivers and several collision accidents were reported as well as cars sliding off the road.

Snow ordinances are in effect as plows need room to push snow off roads.

Public Works says road conditions can be slick even with the light, fluffy snow that fell Sunday.
