A central Iowa man has been hospitalized Saturday recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 53-year old Tim Oelschlager of Roland was pheasant hunting near Eldora Saturday morning. When he was getting back into his truck his 12-gauge shotgun went off, hitting him in the foot.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to Iowa City.
Officials haven’t released his condition. The DNR are still investigating the incident.
