A sexual exploitation charge against a former high school basketball coach has been dropped.

Thirty-one-year-old Melissa Eshelman was charged in November of 2012 with sexual exploitation by a school employee for an alleged relationship with a female student. Eshelman was a 9th grade girls basketball coach at Bondurant-Farrar High School.

The trial for Eshelman was scheduled to begin in August, but now the charge has been dropped.

The Polk County Attorney’s Office says they didn’t have enough proof to take the case to trial.
