A teacher at Knoxville High School has been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student.

Troy Rider, a physical education teacher and football coach at the school, is charged with two counts of third degree sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation by a teacher.

The Knoxville Police Department says a complaint about the abuse was made February 11th. Through the investigation evidence corroborating the claims was found.

Rider turned himself in to Knoxville police around noon Friday. He is being taken to the Marion County Jail.

Officials say their investigation continues and more charges are possible.
