A convicted sex offender has been placed on escaped status from the Ottumwa Work Release Facility.

The Iowa Department of Corrections says 29-year-old Kevin Waldron failed to return to the facility Monday night after work. Officials say he also removed his electronic monitoring device.

Waldron was serving time for third degree sex abuse conviction. He began serving his sentence in 2006.

Officials say Waldron is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is five-foot six and 161 pounds. He has a tattoo on his neck.

If you have any information about Waldron’s location you’re asked to contact the Ottumwa Police Department of the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department.
