Friends, family, and even complete strangers are celebrating the life of one teenage girl.
Visitation services are on Thursday from 3 – 8 p.m. for a south-east Polk teen who lost her battle with brain cancer earlier this week.
It’s at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona.
Kelsey’s funeral is on Friday at 11 a.m. also at Lutheran Church of the Cross.
The family is asking visitors to the services to wear pink in honor and celebration of Kelsey.
Kelsey Michelsen lost her long battle with brain cancer Monday. Channel 13 has been sharing Kelsey’s story for the last year and a half, and now more than ever, it is clear just how many lives she touched.
We’ve received Facebook posts, pictures, emails, and tweets from people honoring and remembering Kelsey’s life. Some of her supporters were working to get #teamKelsey trending on Twitter Tuesday.
They also made attempts to get the attention of Country music star Carrie Underwood, who will be playing in Des Moines this weekend. They say, Underwood was one of Kelsey’s favorite artists, and asked her to sing a song in her honor. .
