Upcoming road construction may cause some trouble for some commuters in the metro.

Friday night, a portion of Interstate-35 will be closed in northern Warren County.

Construction crews are working to remove the Adams Street Bridge to facilitate a wider, six-lane I-35. Both north and south lanes will close near Cumming down to near Bevington.

The work is set to be completed by Saturday.

The bridge near Bevington is also getting some work done. This work comes after a backhoe being hauled on a semi-trailer smashed into the bridge in April. Authorities say crews poured the new deck of the bridge this week, and that the bridge should re-open to traffic in a couple of weeks.

A final road closing to be aware of is the westbound I-235 exit ramp at 73rd Street in Windsor Heights. Crews say the ramp will close at 3 a.m. and will remain off limits for three or four months.
