RIVER CRASH: Barge Hits Rail Bridge

Officials say one person was injured when a barge hit the Crescent rail bridge Monday night.

The bridge carries a rail line across the Mississippi River between Davenport and Rock Island, Illinois.

The accident happened at about 10:00 p.m. The barge got stuck under the bridge and crews had to pull the barge and tugboat away.

Workers from the barge company have not commented on what they were transporting down the river or the condition of the person who was injured.
