The Iowa House and Senate approved resolutions supporting the Renewable Fuels Standard Thursday.

It comes as the Environmental Protection Agency is proposing a rule that would weaken the current RFS and decrease the amount of ethanol that’s blended into gasoline.

The resolution urges the federal government to renew its commitment to farmers, lower fuel prices and the environment by supporting a robust RFS.

Officials say the nation’s agriculture would take a huge hit if the EPA’s proposal is implemented.
