The family of Lyric Cook paid tribute to her Wednesday, on what would have been her twelfth birthday.

Lyric and her cousin Elizabeth Collins disappeared last July.

KWWL reports, Wednesday the family remembered Lyric at Meyers Lake, the place the girls were last seen alive. Their bodies were found a few months later but no one has been charged in the case.

The crowd sang happy birthday to Lyric and released purple balloons. The family picked purple because it was Lyric’s favorite color.

Just across the water, work on Angels Park is still underway.

It’s being built to commemorate the Evansdale cousins. A gazebo is now up and crews will add sidewalks this fall.

Officials expect the park to be completed next year.
