POLK CITY, Iowa -- Sunday's forecast turned out to be bad news for businesses that depend on sunny skies to bring in customers.

Big Creek Marina received an estimated three quarters of an inch of rain.

The result was just three rentals going out on the water all day.

Mark Crawford, the owner of the marina, says Memorial Day is typically one of his busiest weekends behind the 4th of July.

"When it calls for nice weather and sunny, you get a lot of reservation. This time of year, we'll get a lot of reservations if it is nice and warm but when they call for rain, you just don't get it,” Crawford told Channel 13 News.

If you're looking to get out on the water Monday, Crawford says there are still plenty of boats available to reserve.

You can reach Big Creek Marina at 515-984-6083.
