A Johnson County prostitution sting led to 17 arrests.

After a month-long investigation, authorities say they have 16 people in custody related to a prostitution ring.

Among those charged is 42-year-old Lance Forbes, a clinical assistant professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Forbes is accused of paying an undercover police officer $150 in exchange for a sex act.

According to the Des Moines Register, also arrested was a Waterloo woman accused of pimping her younger sister.  Police say 21-year-old Melody McCullom was arrested after making a deal to take money in exchange for sex.  Police say she operates an internet prostitution business.  She later admitted to pimping her minor sister and then taking money from her when she was willing to do sexual acts that McCullom was not willing to do.

Police also say that 20-year-old Breana Levi brought her 3-month-old child with her when she agreed to accept $350 in exchange for a sex act.  Levi left the child in the vehicle.  Levi was also charged with child endangerment.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made.
