Two men charged in connection with Des Moines’ first murder of the year are scheduled to be in court Thursday afternoon.

Twenty-one-year-old Damiko Carr and 17-year-old Chavez Nash are both charged with first degree murder and criminal gang participation.

Police say the men shot and killed Teandre Talton on January 7th outside of Paul Revere Pizza near the Drake University campus.

Thursday’s hearing is a pre-trial conference. Carr and Nash are both scheduled to go on trial May 7th.
